Gestures & Motion
There’s more to WristAssistant than tapping. Here’s every interaction the app supports.
{/* video: various gestures in action */}
Tap — Toggles devices, activates scenes, runs scripts. Haptic confirmation on each tap.
Double-tap — Opens the control view with detailed settings and sliders.
Long-press — Opens controls or a quick action menu. Hold time is adjustable (75ms–300ms).
(Tap and double-tap can be swapped in Settings → Interaction.)
Swipe — Left and right to switch pages.
Triple-tap — Tap at the top of the screen (above the tiles) to jump to the page for your current room. Must be set up first with a room sensor.
Edge swipe — Swipe from the bottom edge to switch pages. Enable and adjust sensitivity in Settings.
Digital Crown
Section titled “Digital Crown”On the main screen, the crown scrolls up and down the page by default. It can also be set to scroll between pages. Inside a control view, it fine-adjusts the active slider — brightness, temperature, cover position, fan speed. Sensitivity is configurable: Fine, Normal, or Coarse.
Wrist Motions
Section titled “Wrist Motions”Twist your wrist clockwise or counter-clockwise to trigger actions without touching the screen. Assign each direction to next/previous page, brightness or volume up/down, activating a scene, toggling a device, or refreshing states.
Start with Low sensitivity and work up. Too sensitive and normal arm movements trigger it. Set up in Settings.
Hand Gestures
Section titled “Hand Gestures”Double-pinch your thumb and index finger to trigger an action. Works when your hands are full — double-pinch instead of touching the screen. Set up and assign an action in Settings — next page, toggle a device, room jump, refresh, or compass control.
Requires Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, or newer. Note: double-pinch is slower than wrist motions due to how Apple processes the gesture.
Haptics & Sounds
Section titled “Haptics & Sounds”Every interaction has haptic feedback — taps, slider steps, success, failure, entering quick action slots. Useful for adjusting lights in a dark room without needing to see the screen.
Sounds are also available for tile taps, menu opens, slider ticks, and confirmations. Set up in Settings → Sounds with adjustable volume and individual sound selection.
Confirmation Prompts
Section titled “Confirmation Prompts”Any tile can require a confirmation before toggling — an “Are you sure?” prompt that prevents accidental activations. Especially useful for garage doors, locks, and alarm panels. Set it up in the editor.
